Same old story with these teams. Sochaux will again struggle to stay out of bottom three and if they manage to do that, they will do it in last round. Nice is strong team from south of France, but they are having small budget for something more and they are satisfied with position in the middle of the table.

Nice have just one aim this season. To secure position in elite as soon as possible so they can play relaxed rest of the season. Remy in attack, Hellebuyck in the midfield and very noisy and hostile crowd should be enough for weak Sochaux. It is usually enough for even much stronger teams. Home stadium is great advantage for them and big part of points they are earning in front of their fans. Antonetti’s guys are full of self esteem, especially in home matches. In my opinion they are good enough for place in Europe, but that would mean playing two matches a week and that demands very long bench. Nice is not team which can provide that and playing in Europe and in France will bring big oscillations and that is not necessary to them.
For now place in the middle of the table is just enough for them and they are having no bigger ambitions.

Sochaux isn’t playing attractive football. If you looked at their result you will find just two in first seven rounds. They lost four times 2-1 and drew three times 1-1. Only three points are enough for 18th position and place in relegation zone. Last season they were in same area on table but in last few rounds they managed to won some games and to escape. Fortunately for them, they were some even worse teams and they will play at least one more season in first league. They took point somehow last week against Lorient. They were goal down at halftime, and ten minutes before end they scored. Erding managed to level score after one long ball and that was only way for them to score. Sochaux is playing without idea and only way for them is to skip midfield and try with some long balls to make something in attack.

There is never a big favorite in France and everything is possible on every match. It is same situation now. Nice is stronger team in much better form and home field is big advantage for them, but tradition is with guests this time. In last three seasons Sochaux is unbeatable in this fixture. Last two matches of these teams on this stadium ends without goals. It shouldn’t be much different now. Sochaux is very weak on away matches, while Nice almost always goes on counter attacks, but it will be very difficult against team who is just defending. I will go for goals this time. Under 2.5 goals looks pretty much safe. Odds are not so great so if you are willing to take some bigger risk under 2 goals is right bet for you. My choice will stay under 2.5 goals because risk is very low.
